Still Nepal

Even though it’s no longer in the news, the rescue efforts to find survivors of the flash floods in Nepal, and evacuate them, continues. It will take years to rebuild the roads and bridges that reached the upper villages, which are buried under 40 feet of mud. Currently, the Nepalese army is the only one doing search and rescue using helicopters, and is organizing temporary encampments for the refugees.

When it’s possible, MicroAid will help rebuild permanent homes for the survivors. As you know, MicroAid stays focused on areas after the world’s attention, and resources, have moved on.

At the moment, MicroAid is continuing our new-home construction for a family who lost their house in the 2015 Gorkha earthquake. That disaster destroyed 650,000 homes!

We leveled the site and filled it to grade, and are building a permanent home with reinforced concrete columns which will withstand future earthquakes and floods.

Thank you for being part of this important humanitarian work. Without you we would not exist. And without MicroAid, these families would be out of luck.

Also, through the efforts of an amazing individual in Los Angeles, Tsilah Burman, MicroAid will be the beneficiary of a fundraiser called Dance For Nepal—most likely on January 8th, 2027.

Please save the date (confirmation will be coming soon) and check out

Thank you.
