Going for the Gold (February 2026)

I’m happy to report that we have already vetted a new beneficiary family in Nepal and begun the process of building them a new permanent house to replace the one they lost in the earthquake of 2015.

Since that devastating event, which destroyed 650,000 homes in Nepal, our family (the mom and two daughters) has been living in a rented two-room apartment. Sadly, her husband/their dad was killed during the earthquake.

At MicroAid, we pride ourselves on finding and helping deserving families who have been overlooked by the government and other aid organizations—without us, they would be out of luck.

With a safe, comfortable, permanent home, they will have the opportunity to focus on living... not just paying the rent. They can afford to eat, stay healthy, study, and, in the future, raise the next generation.

MicroAid is made up of generous donors, like you, who believe that what we do is important. We wouldn’t exist without you. Thank you.

On a separate note: MicroAid recently received our 2026 Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency. This is the highest level of accountability and reporting that a nonprofit organization can get.

Candid charity evaluation (formerly GuideStar) is a comprehensive data-driven system that assesses U.S. nonprofits on transparency, financial health, and operational metrics, rather than just rating them. It uses "Seals of Transparency" (Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum) to rank organizations based on the depth of information provided about their mission, staff, and impact, helping donors make informed, evidence-based decisions.

We’re proud of the work we do… and proud to have the recognition of our integrity.

Thank you for being a part of it all.

Sincerely,

Jon Ross

Founder/project manager
